Ethics
Manifesto.

Our promises to you, to the people you love, and to the memory you hold.

01 — The sacred nature of grief

Grief is not a problem to solve.

We believe grief is love that has nowhere to go. Our role is to hold space for it — not to rush it, fix it, or turn it into engagement. Every feature is built to honor the pace and tenderness of mourning.

02 — Ownership and control

Your archive is yours alone.

You choose what to upload. You retain full ownership. You can export your archive at any moment, and you can delete it completely, permanently, without explanation. We will never hold your memories hostage.

03 — Isolated voices

No shared models. No borrowed voices.

Every companion is trained only on the messages and memories you choose to share. We do not use your data to improve general AI models, and no other user's companion will ever sound like yours.

04 — Consent and dignity

Honor the person being remembered.

We encourage you to consider the dignity of the person being remembered and the consent of anyone whose messages are included. We provide tools to make choices that feel right, and we ask you to use them with care.

05 — A companion, not a replacement

AI sits beside you, not in front of you.

This technology is not a substitute for human connection, therapy, or the real work of grief. It is a companion for the moments in between — a way to sit with memory, never to escape it.

06 — The right to change

You can tune, pause, or let go.

You may adjust the tone, frequency, and presence of the companion. You may pause it for a season. You may end the conversation whenever you are ready. We design toward a relationship with memory that can soften over time.

07 — Transparency

We will tell you what this is and what it is not.

We will always be clear about what the AI can do, what it cannot do, what we store, how we protect it, and who can access it. We will not hide behind vague language or marketing comfort.

08 — A living promise

This manifesto is not a one-time contract.

We will review and update these commitments as we learn, as technology changes, and as you tell us what matters most. We invite you to hold us accountable to the spirit of every word here.

Hold us to it.

If you ever feel we are falling short of these commitments, we want to hear from you. This is a shared responsibility.
